Managing Multiple Profiles and Products
Modex allows a single account to manage multiple profiles — for example, a loan officer profile alongside one or more employer profiles (branch or company). The product switcher in the header lets you move between profiles and between Modex products without logging out.
Note: The ability to manage multiple profiles is available to any Modex account holder. If you are unsure which profiles are linked to your account, contact Modex Support.
Switching Between Profiles and Products
The Change to product switcher appears in the top navigation header on every page. Click it to open a dropdown listing all profiles and products associated with your account. Select any item from the list to switch to that profile or product view immediately.
Each profile has its own dashboard, navigation, and settings. Switching profiles does not log you out — it simply changes the active context for your session.
Profile Types
Modex Profiles supports three profile types under a single account:
- Loan Officer — your personal originator profile, tied to your NMLS ID
- Branch — an employer profile representing a specific branch location
- Company — an employer profile representing a mortgage company
To learn more about how branch and company profiles differ, see Difference Between Branch and Company Employer Profiles.
Managing an Employer Profile with Multiple Users
Branch and company profiles support multiple users, each with their own permission level. To manage who has access to an employer profile, click the Settings gear icon in the top navigation, then select User Access.
From the User Access page you can:
- Invite a new user by clicking Invite User and entering their email address
- View pending invitations by clicking View Invitations
- Edit an existing user's permissions by clicking Edit next to their name
- Remove a user by clicking Remove (disabled if they are the last user on the profile)
User Permissions
Each user on a branch or company profile can be granted any combination of the following permissions:
- Profile Editing — can edit profile information such as the profile photo, name, descriptions, and other content fields
- Represent Profile — can engage in conversations with loan officers on behalf of the profile
- Change Settings — can invite and manage other users and adjust additional profile settings
The User Access list displays each user's active permissions, the date they were added, and their last seen date. For more on employer profile settings, see Employer Profile Settings.
Switching Between Modex Profiles and Modex Recruit
If your account includes access to both Modex Profiles and Modex Recruit, both products appear in the Change to dropdown. Selecting Recruit takes you to the Recruit application, and selecting a profile returns you to Profiles. Your session and login are shared across both products.
To learn more about how profiles, accounts, and products relate to one another, see Differences Between Profiles, Accounts, and Products.
Adding a New Profile to Your Account
To add a loan officer profile to your existing account, follow the loan officer claim flow. To add an employer profile, follow the employer claim flow. In both cases, the claimed profile is linked to your current Modex account and will appear in the Change to switcher after the claim is processed.
- For loan officer profiles, see Claiming a Loan Officer Profile
- For employer profiles, see Claiming an Employer Profile
Note: Newly claimed profiles may be in a pending or preview state while Modex reviews the claim. Some features will be unavailable until the claim is approved. Your account will be reviewed within 2 business days.
