Profile Claiming & Approval
When a profile is created in Modex, it starts as an unclaimed profile — visible on the platform but not yet connected to a verified owner. This article explains what an unclaimed profile is, how to claim it, and what to expect during the approval process.
What Is an Unclaimed Profile?
An unclaimed profile is a loan officer, company, or branch profile that has been populated with NMLS data but has not yet been claimed by the profile owner. Unclaimed profiles are visible in Modex search results but do not have an active user account managing them.
Claiming Your Profile
To claim your profile, visit your public profile page and follow the claiming process by entering your NMLS ID and creating an account. For step-by-step instructions, see Claiming a Loan Officer Profile or Claiming an Employer Profile.
Note: If a profile has already been claimed by someone else, you will see a message indicating it is already claimed. See What do I do if someone claimed my profile?
Awaiting Approval
After you submit a claim, your profile enters an Awaiting Approval state. Your dashboard will display an Awaiting Approval banner: "We are currently reviewing your claim of this profile. Hold tight!"
Modex reviews profile claims within 2 business days.
What Is Available Before Approval?
Some features are restricted until your claim has been approved:
- Loan officers — features such as Raise Your Hand are not available until approval is complete
- Company and branch profiles — your account will be in preview mode; your account executive will reach out within 2 business days to schedule a demo and fully enable your account. Click Explore Modex Profiles in Preview Mode to browse limited functionality in the meantime.
After Approval
Once your claim is approved, all features associated with your account will be unlocked and your profile will be fully active.
