Employment and Office Locations
Loan officers can have multiple office locations (and in some cases multiple employers!). When a loan officer has multiple office locations, Modex will show you their oldest office location. This will affect loan officer filtering, etc.
For example, if a loan officer has an office location in Los Angeles, CA (with a start date of 2020) and another office location in San Diego, CA (with a start date of 2021), Modex will show you their Los Angeles location. Since this affects filtering as well, if you try to filter for this loan officer using a boundary that covers San Diego, you will not see them. You would only see this loan officer in filtering if you used a boundary that covers Los Angeles.
Modex only shows current office locations. To view all office locations for a loan officer, click the "View All Offices" button under their employer on a loan officer's Detail Page.
Loan officers who have multiple office locations will show up at each branch location in Modex. You will also see their production at each of those branch locations. To learn more about how Modex handles branch production, view this article: Branch Production and Company Volume Totals
Types of Office Locations
Licensing data provides us with a variety of different office location types (main, branch, work, and company). The most common office location types are "main" and "branch".
- Branch Location: Most commonly found with state-licensed loan officers (lenders, brokers, mortgage bankers), this office type is associated with a branch location.
- Main Location: Most commonly found with federally licensed loan officers (banks, credit unions, depositories), this office type is associated with a headquarters or main office.
- If a loan officer only has a main office location and works for a state-licensed company, Modex may not be able to show you their branch information. We may go straight from Loan Officer -> Company.
- From a licensing/sponsorship perspective, federally registered loan officers don't have branch locations (learn more here: Types of Branches). In this case, Modex creates branch locations for these loan officers. While they may have a "Main" office location, we are able to create a branch for them and show you their branch production.
